"Teaching Artistry Through Form, Phrasing, and Dynamics" by Dr. Theresa Bogard. Theresa Bogard is an active performer combining varied interests in historical performance practice, contemporary music, chamber music and the music of women composers. Dr. Bogard has presented programs of solo and chamber music in the United States, New Zealand, Australia, Austria, The Netherlands, Italy, Mexico, Bolivia, Brazil, Korea, Indonesia, Thailand, China, Taiwan and Singapore. She is featured on a recording of solo piano works by Louise Talma in addition to two recordings for saxophone and piano with saxophonist Scott Turpen, Johann Nepomuk Hummel: Chamber Music at Schönbrunn with Red Cedar Chamber Music, Eastern Gems a disc of flute and piano music by eastern European composers with flutist Nicole Riner, Music of Gustav Nolck for cello and piano with Beth Vanderborgh cellist, Chamber Music of Jennifer Higdon and Verismo Trio a recording of contemporary music for flute, saxophone and piano. She has served on the faculty of the InterHarmony International Music Festival in Italy and the Sulzbach-Rosenberg International Music Festival in Germany. Recent performances include a chamber music concert at Carnegie Hall’s Weill Recital Hall, Nathan Davis’ Matroyshka Blues with cellist Misha Quint at the Ravinia Steans Institute “Bridges Composition Concert” and a tour of five cities in Brazil with the Trio das Nações.
Nationally known as a pedagogue, she has been honored with numerous teaching awards. In 2008, she was chosen as the Wyoming Professor of the Year by the Carnegie Foundation. Her students have distinguished themselves in national and international piano competitions and been accepted into the top graduate and undergraduate programs in the country including: The Julliard School, Eastman School of Music, Cleveland Institute of Music, Oberlin College Conservatory of Music, Manhattan School of Music and Peabody Conservatory of Music among others. She has also served as an adjudicator at numerous regional, national and international piano competitions. Dr. Bogard is a Steinway Artist and is currently the head of the Keyboard Area at the University of Wyoming.

"Show and Tell; method books and supplemental books I use and why". Members of the FCMTA are encouraged to bring their materials with them and give a brief description of what they are and why you find them useful. If there is enough time at the end we can have a discussion about the materials and a discussion about the role that method books and supplemental books play.

"Digging Deeper" is the topic. It will be on how to prepare students for performance. This is presented by Judy Johnson of Loveland.

After the business meeting, we will have a panel discussion from among others: Shilo Stroman (percussionist) Russ Massey (trumpet & band director) Michelle Massey (clarinet and band director) and Bob Kreutz (orchestra director/educator).

Dr Bryan Wallick is a CSU Assistant Professor of music; Piano. His topic is “Efficient Piano Practice: Practice techniques and regimes of concert pianists.” He will present a summary of his doctoral dissertation. A copy of the document has been emailed to all association members.

After the business meeting at 9:00, we will have teachers perform for each other at 10:00. After the "Musicale" we will go to the social hall for a carry-in luncheon.
