“Trauma Informed Teaching”

This talk will offer listeners a foundational overview of trauma-informed practice in the classroom and music studio. The nature of trauma and its effects on bodily, emotional, and learning processes will be introduced, as well as basic techniques to be present with students who may experience reactivity as a result of trauma.

Notes: The general meeting is designed for professional development, discussion of upcoming events, delegation of tasks, organizational reports, spreading of news from the state and national level, as well as general camaraderie between local teachers of all kinds. All FCMTA members are encouraged to attend the monthly meeting and program. There will be a recording for those that are unable to attend. Collegiate chapter members of MTNA are encouraged. Prospective members are always welcome to come introduce themselves, ask questions, and get a feel for what the organization is about.
