Joseph Harkins brings an eclectic mix of classical, jazz, blues, and contemporary styles to his teaching and performing. His teaching philosophy is based in the firm belief that there is pianistic and expressive musical ability in everyone. Active as a performer, adjudicator, and presenter, he has presented extensively for MTNA chapters as well as the National Conference on Keyboard Pedagogy. He holds a B.M. in Jazz Studies from Western Michigan University and a M.M. in Piano Performance and Pedagogy from the University of Denver.
