Mary Ann Ranney

Mary Ann Ranney holds degrees in piano performance from Indiana University and the University of Southern California as well as a DMA in "Piano Pedagogy: Process of Group Environments" from the University of Colorado. She studied for a year in Vienna as a recipient of a Rotary Graduate Fellowship. Mary Ann's extensive experience in piano pedagogy includes many years of traditional teaching, study of the Suzuki method, and training in Taubman technique. A longtime member of MTNA, she was voted CSMTA's Nationally Certified Teacher of the Year in 1996 and her local association's Teacher of the Year in 2015. Her interest in chamber music has led to Fall Trio Musicales in which students play piano pieces with violin and 'cello. Her interest in multi-sensory learning has led naturally to an investigation of EFT Tapping as a beneficial modality to decrease the stress and anxiety so often experienced by performers at all levels of musical ability.
