Nancy E. Harris, M.H., Vocologist, L.M.R.V.T.
An accomplished, widely experienced teacher in the arts, specifically in vocal production and presentation, singing, acting, and storytelling, Nancy has had a private studio for over 40 years, and was a college instructor for 15 years, teaching such things as speech, acting & movement, and multiple humanities courses. Her training includes a BA (Vocal Music Education/Studio Voice/Theatre), a Master of Humanities (Voice/Theatre/Comparative Literature/Art History), the Summer Vocology Institute at the DCPA, and certification in Lessac Madsen Resonant Voice Therapy. (A Vocologist has more post-grad science than a regular voice teacher and can work in a clinical setting if desired.)
A professional performer in over 40 musicals and operas, plus some plays, and as a director, she has also studied under Robert Shaw, sung under Sir Malcolm Sergeant with the London Philharmonic, performed with a French swing band at NATO headquarters, was the mezzo soloist for the West Coast Premiere of Solomon’s Gardens at Stanford University, and has recorded two jazz albums and two volumes of children’s music and story anthologies.
